The Evans brand is one of the Arcadia Group’s leading brands and appeals to women who are size 14-32. This audience spans generations so the team at Evans are constantly looking to deliver an online experience that appeals to young and old alike.

The site has been through a number of design iterations since 2007, including a complete redesign by Poke. Since then the in-house design team have gone on to refine the site’s offering in line with its commercial objectives and traffic patterns and the current design was launched in March 2009.

The Evans team are constantly looking to ensure the site is a cut above its competitors and the design requirements are often challenging to deliver within an IBM Websphere Commerce platform that’s optimised for commerce rather than multimedia content. As lead front-end developer for the Arcadia Group I am constantly working with my team to ensure the suite of tools and and functionality we develop with our bespoke CMS and JavaScript and Flash frameworks supports the Evans team in this aim.
